PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel supporting method which allows selectively supporting a biological material to be supported on the surface of a magnetic material while keeping the biological material in a state that sufficiently exhibits its functions in supporting the biological material such as protein on a carrier including the magnetic material. SOLUTION: An amino acid sequence of a peptide fragment having a binding ability to a desired magnetic material is easily obtained by screening a random peptide library, for example, based on the binding ability to the magnetic material. Based on the amino acid sequence, a spacer including the peptide fragment exhibiting the binding ability to the magnetic material is designed. A biological material-spacer complex in which the spacer is bound to the biological material in advance is formed and thereafter a magnetic material-biological material complex type structure is formed by supporting the biological material-spacer complex on the surface of the magnetic material through the binding ability of the spacer part to the magnetic material.
