PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preventing material diffusion by which a diffusible material present in the inside of a polymer material is prevented from bleeding out to the surface and invading to another material; and to provide a composite material wherein the diffusible material present in the inside of the polymer material is prevented from invading into another material. SOLUTION: The method for preventing material diffusion is the one for preventing the diffusion of an added material contained in the polymer material 10 in a sheet shape, and the diffusion of the added material is prevented by forming a diffusion-preventing layer 10a selected from a corona-treated layer, an ozonizer-treated layer and a friction-treated layer at least on one surface of the polymer material 10 in the sheet shape.
