PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner capable of preventing the continuation of cleaning during incomplete mounting state of a rotary brush. SOLUTION: The rotary brush 12 is rotatably provided on the case body 11 of a floor brush 9, which is communicated and connected to the suction side of a motor-driven blower. When detecting that the rotary brush 12 is not completely mounted on the case body 11 by a detection means, a control means does not permit the drive of the motor-driven blower.
