Printing machine (1) comprises a printing unit (2) for printing a personalized document in a printing region, a feeding unit for feeding the documents into the printing region and having support units (10, 11) for holding the documents and for moving the documents into and out of the printing region, a drive unit (15, 16) for moving the support units along a feeding direction (Z) and a control unit (5) for controlling the drive unit. An independent claim is also included for a method for printing personalized documents. Preferred Features: The support units each have an adjusting element which can be adjusted in height.
