A method for operating a network system is provided to minimize overheads in a wireless environment and operate a home network more efficiently through existing middleware, such as UPnP(Universal Plug and Play), without any modification and designing and operating a network system in consideration of the characteristics of wireless technology. The second control point multicasts an advertise message to other devices, such as the first control point, controlled points, connected to a network, using SSDP(Simple Service Discovery Protocol)(S100). In case the first control point responds to the advertise message(S200), the second control point requests the first control point to provide data about the controlled points(S300). In response to the request from the second control point, the first control point transmits recently updated data about the controlled points to the second control point(S400).
