WATER-BASED INK, METHOD OF INKJET RECORDING, INK CARTRIDGE, RECORDING UNIT, AND APPARATUS FOR INKJET RECORDING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-based ink having such excellent properties that it is excellent in image density and fixability regardless of the kind of a recording medium even when the volume of each ink droplet is small and that the ink gives images having no white streaks even in high-speed recording.

SOLUTION: The water-based ink comprises water, a water-soluble organic solvent, a water-insoluble colorant, a surfactant, and a poor solvent for the water-insoluble colorant and/or a salt. The water-based ink is characterized in that the dynamic surface tension of the water-based ink as measured by the maximum bubble pressure method at a lifetime of 50 m/sec is higher than 47 mN/m and the dynamic surface tension thereof as measured by the maximum bubble pressure method at a lifetime of 5,000 msec is 38 mN/m or lower.
