<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary coated optical fiber and a cord that have a performance far superior to a conventional POF/cable, that have flame-retardancy, heat-resistance and heat-resisting dimensional stability, and that facilitate terminal machining by imparting a proper adhesion between the clad of a hard plastic clad primary coated optical fiber (HPCF) and a flame-retardant nylon 12 resin of a primary coating material and between the flame-retardant nylon 12 resin and flame-retardant polypropylene based elastomer. <P>SOLUTION: With a secondary coated optical fiber structure in which a primary coating layer of the flame-retardant nylon 12 resin is provided on the HPCF for which a hard fluororesin clad is applied to a quartz glass core, there are imparted adhesiveness (adhesion 100-400 g/mm), flame-retardancy, and fusion to a plastic ferrule by laser irradiation. Also, with an optical fiber cord structure in which a secondary coating layer of the flame-retardant polypropylene based elastomer is provided on the secondary coated optical fiber, there are imparted hardness≥55, heat-resistance, flame-retardancy, and adhesiveness (adhesion 100-300 g/mm). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
