PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information recording medium reproduction apparatus which realizes normal reproduction from a desired position without making a user feel unnatural. SOLUTION: At a step S124, a control part 15 sets a position separated in a direction set at a step S108 from a counter value read out at a step S120 by "a shifting time" read out at a step S116 as a position of starting reproduction. At a step S136, the control part 15 controls a reproduction processing part 12 to search the reproduction to the position of starting the reproduction set at the step S124 at "the most recent searching speed" stored in a storage part 14. At a step S144, the control part 15 controls the reproduction processing part 12 to start normal reproduction from the position of starting the reproduction set at the step S124.
