PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple and efficient method of manufacturing an inorganic fibrous formed body in which additives such as a coagulating material, a gelating agent, a flocculant or a pH adjuster are not required, any organic material is not used, a firing step is dispensed with and the migration of an inorganic binder is prevented. SOLUTION: The inorganic fibrous formed body is obtained by dispersing ceramic fibers in water, adding an inorganic binder and carrying out suction forming or by carrying out suction forming to form a formed body and impregnating the formed body with the inorganic binder and next, freezing the resultant wet formed body, melting and drying. Colloid particles in the inorganic binder are made coarse by the freezing and uniformly dispersed to be carried in the formed body of the inorganic fiber and does not move to the surface side even in a normal drying step to prevent the migration.
