PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus for enabling even a person who is not familiar with any operation to photograph a satisfactory image without any mistake. SOLUTION: When the half depression of a release button is performed, photographing is prepared. Then, when the photographing preparation is completed, preliminary photographing is performed, and an acquired image is temporarily recorded in a memory as a preliminary photographic image. When the half depression of the release button is released prior to the full depression of the release button, the preliminary photographic image recorded in the memory is recorded in the memory card. Thus, it is possible to prevent such a mistake that the half depression of the release button is mistaken for having been photographed, and that a shutter chance is missed as a result.
