SURFACE TREATMENT METHOD, METALS USING THE METHOD, AND STERILIZING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple surface treatment method for simultaneously providing the rust preventive effect and the sterilizing effect to metals used underwater or under a highly humid condition; to provide metals having both the rust preventive effect and the sterilizing effect using the surface treatment method; and to provide a sterilizing device using the surface-treated metals. SOLUTION: A metal 2 having the ionization tendency higher than that of metals 1 and a conductive material 3 are brought into contact with the metals 1 so that the metal 2 having the high ionization tendency is electrically joined with the conductive material 3. Microorganisms can be sterilized by the potential difference between the metal 2 having high ionization tendency and the conductive material 3. Further, due to the electrochemical corrosion preventive effect of the metal 2 having the high ionization tendency, the rust preventive effect can be given to the metals 1. Further, a device can be provided, which is capable of maintaining the sterilizing effect even underwater or under a highly humid condition by using the surface treated metals 1.
