<p>An illumination device for a display device has tube lamps (100) capable of being parallelly driven, a first holding member (101) having holders (101A) equivalent in number to the number of the tube lamps (100) and each holding one end of each tube lamp (100), a second holding member (102) having holders (102B) equivalent in number to the number of the tube lamp (100) and each holding the other end of each tube lamp (100), an electric power source device (103) for supplying power to the tube lamps through the first and second holding members (101, 102), and a chassis (not shown) for the illumination device. The first and second holding members (101, 102) are fixed to the chassis so as to be movable in the main axis direction of the tube lamps (100). This reduces possibility of breakage of the tube lamps by thermal stress.</p> |
