<p>[PROBLEMS] A method of identifying type of oil and a type of oil identifying unit which can accurately identify type of oil even in the presence of a light shielding component in the oil to be able to prevent an erroneous identification for mixed oil. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] The method comprises the step S1 of measuring the transmission spectrum of near infrared ray, the step S2 of converting the transmission spectrum into absorbance spectrum, the first identification step S3 of comparing the difference in absorbance between two wavelengths existing in the vicinities of respective attributable wavelengths of specified chemical bonding with 0.0 to identify gasolines/non-gasolines, the step S4 of determining the first derivation spectrum of absorbance, the second identification step S5 of multiplying by a coefficient first derivation values of the absorbances of at least four wavelengths existing in the vicinities of respective attributable wavelengths by specified chemical bonding, and adding a constant to the result for comparing with 0.0 to identify regular/high-octane gasolines, and the third identification step S6 of comparing the difference in absorbance between two wavelengths existing in the vicinities of respective attributable wavelengths of specified chemical bonding with 0.0 to identify kerosene/light oil.</p> |
