The invention relates to the magnetic flaw inspection of steel pipelines by studying magnetic leakage fields with the aid of probing devices displaceable inside a tube. The inventive magnetic system for a pipeline flaw detector comprises a row of the magnetic system elements which are placed concentrically along the circumference of the flaw detector body. Wherein each element comprises a pole shoe, a magnetic field source and a magnetic conductor which is made from at least one coil of flexible magnetic tape and is fixed by the side surfaces thereof between said shoes and the magnetic field source and the central axis of the coil is oriented perpendicularly to the travel direction of the flaw detector.
