<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process to improve both the yield of desired xylene isomers with low cyclic loss and the recycle rate when processing a feed stream. <P>SOLUTION: The process is to produce and recover one or more high-purity xylene isomers from the feed stream comprising a substantial content of ≥9C hydrocarbons. The feed stream is processed to de-ethylate heavy aromatic compounds and the de-ethylated heavy aromatic compounds are fractionated and passed to a circuit comprising recovery and isomerization of 8C aromatic isomers.
