<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorption column, in which a pressing plate can be arranged without gaps always on the upper surface of an adsorbent even if the filling height of the adsorbent becomes low, the maintenance of the absorption column can be easily carried out, and at the same time, the desired product gas can be obtained well always. <P>SOLUTION: An upper cylindrical part 12 is connected to the upper part of a cylindrical member 11, and the circular pressing plate 20 having gas flowing properties is arranged vertically movably inside the cylindrical part. The upper end opening of the upper cylindrical part 12 is blocked by a blocking plate 30 having a gas piping connecting port, and at the same time, a screw member 40 is provided, the screw member pressing the pressing plate 20 toward the upper surface of the adsorbent 14 filled from the lower part of the cylindrical member 11 up to the height of the cylindrical part inside.
