PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an emergency notification system issuing an alarm when an abnormality occurs by mainly supervising the states of a care dependent person, such as an aged person living alone, an aged person having the habit of wandering about, and a physically handicapped person. SOLUTION: The emergency notification system for notifying a support organization (6) by detecting the abnormality of the care dependent person (12), such as the aged person living alone and a home-based patient, is provided. The system includes a heartbeat/breathing detection sensor (2a) for detecting one or both of the heartbeat and the breathing of the care dependent person, mounted on a bed (11) on which the above care dependent person (12) lies, and a control apparatus (3) for outputting a predetermined alarm signal based on the signal from the above heartbeat/breathing detection sensor (2a). The above control unit (3) constantly receives one or both of the heartbeat and the breathing signals transmitted from the above heartbeat/breathing detection sensor (2a).
