PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect defective modules easily with respect to a defective module detection method for detecting defective modules in a signal processor having a plurality of modules for performing mutual communication. SOLUTION: The method has: a counting step for counting the number of communication failure occurrences every module by monitoring the occurrences of communication failure and adding the number of communication failures of a module related to the communication concerned every time the communication failure occurs; and a detection step for detecting defective modules on the basis of counted values every module which have been obtained at the counting step.
