PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens position detecting device capable of detecting the position of a lens in an optical axis direction with high reliability by holding the contact pressure of a conductive brush to a code plate to be constant even when an operation ring is turned. SOLUTION: A lens barrel equipped with the lens L2 moved in the optical axis direction by the operation ring 4 operated to be turned around an optical axis by screwing in a screw groove 5a in a fixed ring 5 is equipped with the code plate 8 provided in a fixed part, and the conductive brush 7 turned together with the operation ring 4 to slide on the surface of the code plate 8. The surface of the code plate 8 is inclined to be equal to the pitch inclination of the screw groove 5a. The conductive brush 7 is turned and moved in the optical axis direction by the turning of the operation ring 4, but the relative displacement of the conductive brush 7 in the optical axis direction is canceled by the inclination of the code plate 8, and the conductive brush 7 always comes into contact with the code plate 8 with fixed pressure and stably outputs a detection signal.
