PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the step of assembling a bearing unit for a drive wheel including a hub wheel, bearings, and constant velocity universal joints into a knuckle member. SOLUTION: The hub wheel 10 is plastically joined to the outer joint member 31 of the outboard side constant velocity universal joint 30. The outer peripheral surface 26a of the external member 26 is press-fitted to the inner peripheral surface of the knuckle member. The maximum outer diameter dimension D1 of the outboard side constant velocity universal joint 30 is smaller than the minimum inner diameter dimension Dn of the knuckle member 6.
