<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a skin care composition having an excellent promotion effect on collagen synthesis and an excellent amelioration effect on aged skin and to provide a means for effectively preparing the skin care composition. <P>SOLUTION: The skin care composition comprises erythrocentaurin (3,4-dihydrocoumarin derivative) obtained by enzymatic hydrolysis of swertiamarin being a secoiridoid glycoside contained in a plant (e.g. Swertia japonica) of the family Gentianaceae with β-glucosidase. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
