<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of forming a conductive pattern which can easily form an ultra fine conductive pattern, and to provide a wire grid polarizer having superior polarization. <P>SOLUTION: The conductive pattern formation method comprises processes for: bonding a compound having a photopolymerization initiation part capable of initiating radical polymerization by photocleavage and a base material bonding part to a base material; performing pattern exposure and deactivating the photopolymerization initiation part at an exposure region; bringing a radically polymerizable unsaturated compound onto the base material, performing entire surface exposure only with light having a wavelength not absorbed bythe radically polymerizable unsaturated compound, allowing photocleavage to occur in the photopolymerization initiation part remaining at a non-exposed region in pattern exposure, and generating a graft polymer by initiating radial polymerization; and forming a conductive expressing layer by imparting a conductive material to the graft polymer for in this order.
