<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent discharge or lighting of an incompatible lamp even when the incompatible lamp is erroneously inserted which has the same shell outer diameter as that of a compatible HID lamp and which has a smaller distance from one end face of the shell to a metal terminal than the distance of the compatible HID lamp. <P>SOLUTION: An insulation spacer 6 is housed between a center contact piece 41 and a lamp holder 40 of the outer shell 7 into which the compatible HID lamp is inserted that is equipped with the base having the shell, an insulation part, and a metal terminal. The inner diameter of the insulation spacer 6 is larger than the maximum outer diameter of the insulation part, and smaller than the outer diameter of one end face of the shell. The height is equal to or more than the distance in which the space distance specified in the JIS C 8280 is added to the distance from the lower face of the shell to the metal terminal in the incompatible lamp in which the outer diameter of the shell is the same with that of the compatible HID lamp, and the distance from the lower face of the shell to the metal terminal is smaller than that of the compatible HID lamp, and equal to or less than the distance from the lower face of the shell to the metal terminal in the compatible HID lamp. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
