OPTICAL SHEET AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING OPTICAL SHEET, BACKLIGHT AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical sheet which does not increase production cost, generates no side lobe and ensures a wide viewing angle, a method for producing such an optical sheet, and a backlight and a liquid crystal display using the optical sheet.

SOLUTION: The method for producing the optical sheet comprises: a pressing step of fabricating a prism sheet by forming a prismatic raised and recessed pattern comprising raised portions having a triangular top and recessed portions having a triangular groove bottom in an alternate and nearly parallel state on one surface of a flat transparent sheet comprising a light transmitting material; an application step of applying a radiation curing resin material to the surface of the prism sheet on which the raised and recessed pattern has been formed; and a radiation irradiation step of irradiating the prism sheet to which the radiation curing resin material has been applied with radiation.
