PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery pack which performs the fault diagnosis of parts or the abnormality detection of a charger. SOLUTION: Each measuring part measures terminal voltage, battery voltage, charge/discharge currents, and temperature. In case that the charge/discharge current is flowing, a fault diagnoser diagnoses the fault, based on the variation of circuit impedance obtained from each measurement result. When the charge/discharge current is not flowing, it diagnoses the fault, based on the difference between the terminal voltage and the battery voltage obtained from each measurement result and the state of a charge/discharge control FET. It is determined whether the circuit is abnormal from the result of diagnosis. When it is determined to be abnormal, it inhibits charge/discharge, and stores the diagnosis result in a memory, and also it supplies the result to an external electronic apparatus connected via a communication terminal. Moreover, in case that a charge is connected, it can detect the abnormality of the charger, based on the terminal voltage and the state of the charge/discharge FET.
