PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To assure 100% of absorption efficiency by making a waste fluid penetrate certainly to all the corners of a means for holding the waste fluid in an ink jet recorder for discharging two or more kinds of ink whose permeability to an absorber declines if blended. SOLUTION: In a waste fluid holding means consisting of a sub waste fluid holding part which composes the portion beyond the part of 100 or less square millimeter of cross-sectional area and other main waste fluid holding part, when the sub waste fluid holding part divides the main waste fluid holding part equally, the sub waste fluid holding part is connected with the discharge side of a low-viscosity waste fluid such as a dye.
