PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device for a ship capable of accurately detecting a steered reaction force. SOLUTION: The steering device for the ship is equipped with a steered mechanism 5 for turning an outboard motor 4 as a steering member. The steered mechanism 5 is not mechanically connected with a steering member 3 such as a steering wheel or the like. A rotary motion of an actuator 6 for turning is converted to a linear motion of a moving body 10 along an axis 7 by a conversion mechanism 11 such as a ball screw mechanism or the like, and converted to a turning (steering operation) of the outboard motor 4 around a steering central axis 12 through a link mechanism 13. The load applied on both end parts of the axis 7 is detected by axial force sensors 23, 24, and the steered reaction force is obtained based on a detection value. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
