PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sensor, which is not so large-scaled, for detecting the leakage of blood because an accident may occur if a part of an indwelling needle comes out and blood leaks in the artificial dialysis. SOLUTION: The blood leakage detection sensor is provided to solve the above problem. The blood leakage detection sensor is composed of a light emitting part 10 for irradiating light to the skin, a light receiving part 11 for receiving the reflection light from the skin, and a received light intensity detection means. A storage space part 14 opened on the opposite side to the skin is formed at least on one side of the light emitting part or the light receiving part, and the storage space part is filled with a translucent fiber aggregate 15.
