A process for the preparation of compound with potential physiological properties 1-(1',1'-difluoro-2'-bromo-2'-chloroethyl)-5-fluorouracil involves interaction of known reactants and ingredients of pharmaceuticals of 5-nitrouracil with halothane in the system of solvents (benzene – dimethylformamide) under conditions of phase-transfer catalysis with dibenzo-18-crown-6-ether.
