摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable to effectively restrain excessive current from flowing at short circuiting of cells, without adding new components. <P>SOLUTION: In the fuel cell system provided with cells generating power by electrochemical reaction of fuel gas and oxidizing gas, a cell stack made by laminating the cells, a control means for controlling a supply flow of the fuel gas and the oxidizing gas, a short-circuiting means short-circuiting a cathode and an anode of an output terminal of the cell stack, both electrodes are made short-circuited after an operation with a supply ratio of oxygen to hydrogen lower than normal, at the time of power generation stoppage. It is preferable to operate with oxygen supply volume against sweep current made lower than stoichiometry. Further, it is provided with a voltage measurement means for measuring voltage between both electrodes of the cell stack and it is preferable if the both electrodes are made short-circuited when the voltage between the electrodes gets below a given value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
