<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network device and a network system appropriately and efficiently controlling a power source via a network. <P>SOLUTION: In the network system 1, when a client terminal such as a desktop PC 3 and a notebook PC 4 transfers at a same time or broadcasts power-off instruction commands for instructing power-off of a copying machine 5, a printer 6, a scanner 7 and a facsimile apparatus 8 and the like as network devices via a LAN 2, each network device checks if the power-off instruction command is to itself or not. If the command is to itself, the network device checks whether it is in a state in which power-off is executable or not based on setting information for power-off time which is set and stored beforehand.
