PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely receive GPS signals from satellites and detect current positions without unnecessary consumption of electric power or the occurrence of a substantial voltage drop in cells to bring apparatuses to a breakdown, when using coin cells and other compact cells as power supplies. SOLUTION: In a CPU 31, an RF control part 34 controls with respect to an RF part 2 to change over from a non-operating mode to an operating mode and from an operating mode to a non-operating mode; when none of five items of subframe data has been acquired, change-over from a non-operating mode to an operating mode is made intermittently in matching with the transmission of subframe data which has not been acquired; and when all the five pieces of subframe data have been acquired, a current position is computed, on the basis of positional information included in the subframe data.
