PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent walking from being detected erroneously by an operation for an operation part, so as to accurately measure the number of steps. SOLUTION: A CPU 101 is shifted to a walking determination mode when detecting the operation for the operation part 104, and counts a walking signal from an acceleration sensor 105 to be stored sequentially in a number-of-step buffer memory 110. The CPU 101 is shifted to a number-of-step measuring mode when determined as the walking in the walking determination mode, adds the number of steps stored in the number-of-step buffer memory 110 to the number of steps stored in a number-of-step memory 109, and measures thereafter the number of steps continuously, to be added to the number of steps of the number-of-step memory 109, in every reception of the walking signal from the acceleration sensor 105. The number-of-step measurement is stopped without adding the number of steps in the number-of-step buffer memory 110 to the number of steps in the number-of-step memory 109, when a walking stop state is determined in the walking determination mode.
