PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ATS wayside coil detachably installable in any place on the railroad and preventing possibility of installation failure. SOLUTION: The wayside coil 1 comprises a wayside coil main body 10 and a substrate 20. Clip-shaped mounting members 26 comprising support metal fittings and elastic pieces are provided in both end parts of the substrate 20, and the substrate 20 comprises two divided portions 21a, 21b foldably connected to each other by a hinge. The width dimension is set not to exceed the construction gage, and the wayside coil main body 10 is set to enable electromagnetic coupling to a pick up coil in both right and left rail R sides. An operation switch for switching an internal circuit between an operable state and an non-operational state is connected to the wayside coil main body 10 by a cable. The wayside coil 1 can be easily installed in any place on the railroad and can be easily removed when unnecessary. Since a stop signal can be transmitted both when a train is traveling on the up line and when it is traveling on the down line, it is unnecessary to consider the mounting direction and thus, operation failure can be prevented.
