<p>The invention provides an amphiphilic copolymer comprising monomer units derived from a first monomer and monomer units derived from a second monomer. The copolymer has at least one hydrophobic endgroup. The first monomer is such that the copolymer is thermally responsive and the second monomer comprises a carboxylic acid or carboxylate group.</p>
