The invention relates to keratinocytes from the culture KC-BI-1 (DSM ACC 2514), with a high proliferation potential, which are not immortalised and which can be replicated at least 150 times by in vitro cell culture methods. This results in a cell multiplication factor of about 1044. The corresponding keratinocytes still retain their advantageous properties for the treatment of wounds.
