<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease consumed powder in a reflective mode in a transmissive LCD and to obtain multi-level gradation of display in a reflective mode by a holding circuit. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of scanning lines GLT for transmissive pixels and a plurality of scanning lines GLR for reflective pixels are alternately extended in a row direction; a scanning line driving circuit 40 for transmissive pixels to drive the plurality of scanning lines GLT for transmissive pixels is disposed; and a scanning line driving circuit 41 for reflective pixels to drive the scanning lines GLR for reflective pixels is disposed. Data lines DL are extended in a column direction each corresponding to the column of transmissive pixels; and a data line driving circuit 43 to output display data to the data lines DL is disposed.
