PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a liquid crystal display wherein reduction of cross-talk and prevention of burning in an S-IPS (Super-In-Plane Switching) system can be achieved by only design change. SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display having an IPS structure generating a lateral electric field between a common electrode 10 and a pixel electrode 20 provided on a first substrate, the common electrode 10 is extended and further provided between a signal line 30 and the pixel electrode 20. Thereby, influence of an electric field from the signal line can be reduced and reduction of a margin to cross-talk can be suppressed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
