METHOD OF DRIVING DISPLAY PANEL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of driving a display panel that can perform stable driving wherein erroneously discharging is prevented. SOLUTION: The display panel has pixel cells, each formed of a first discharge cell and a second discharge cell provided with a light shield layer, at intersection parts of a plurality of row electrode pairs serving for display lines and column electrodes. The display panel is driven such that quantities of wall charges in second discharge cells are adjusted by applying the column electrodes with wall charge adjusting pulses differing in polarity from sustain pulses simultaneously with sustain pulses applied finally in each sustain period among sustain pulses applied to the row electrode pairs to generate sustain discharges of the first discharge cells.
