The invention relates to a hob (5) comprising at least one heating module (9) for heating a cooking pot especially by electromagnetic induction. Said heating module is arranged inside a plastic housing (8), which housing (8) is fasted on a dimensionally stable base (freestanding oven 1). The aim of the invention is to increase the dimensional stability of the housing (8). For this purpose, at least one metal supporting rail (14) extends under the housing (8), said rail having fastening elements (17) for fixing it at least to the base.
