<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device capable of improving heat radiation efficiency on the substrate side, wherein a light emitting unit is arranged, and usable as a backlight unit. <P>SOLUTION: This light emitting device includes a first substrate 12 and a second substrate 14 arranged face to face mutually, an electron emission unit 110 formed on the inside face of the first substrate, a phosphor layer 34 formed on the inside face of the second substrate for emitting light by an electron emitted from the electron emission unit, an anode electrode 36 formed on one face of the phosphor layer, a heat radiation plate 20 formed on the first substrate side, and thermal diffusion plates 22 and 38 formed on the second substrate at least and connected to the heat radiation plate for allowing light diverged from the phosphor layer to pass through. In this configuration, heat radiation efficiency on the second substrate side on which the light emission unit is placed can be improved without interrupting light from the light emitting device 100, since the heat diffusion plates connected to the heat radiation plate for allowing light diverged from the phosphor layer to pass through is formed on the second substrate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
