<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which the moving time of a developing rotary can be shortened, when communication failure occurs between a TC memory and an image forming apparatus body. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is equipped with the developing rotary 4 in which a plurality of toner cartridges 13C to 13K, on which a non-volatile memory is mounted respectively are arranged on the periphery of the rotary shaft and the plurality of toner cartridges are successively moved by the rotational driving around the rotary shaft; and by rotationally driving the developing rotary 4 and moving it to a position, where the non-volatile memory substrate 17 of the toner cartridge and the image forming apparatus body can communicate with each other, data is written or read by communicating with the non-volatile memory. However, if the image forming apparatus body and the non-volatile memory cannot communicate with each other, the developing rotary 4 is temporarily driven in the reverse direction of the forward direction and driven in the forward direction again; and after driving it in the forward direction again, communication with the non-volatile memory is retried. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
