<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problems: when plurality of axis-shaped metal members are fixed on a sheet-shaped member made of same or different kind of metal, it is necessary to design fit sizes of holes or apertures to be formed on the sheet material, it is required to have apertures with dimensional accuracy on the sheet material, and it is not possible to make products cheaply and in large quantities by the conventional method. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for fixing metal members, holes or apertures having a size 10 to 50% smaller than a cross-sectional area of axial material are formed on the metal member, then one sheet-shaped member is heated to the temperature at which it becomes soft and thrust by other axis-shaped member which is kept at room temperature. A difference in hardness occurs between the one member which is softened by heating and the other member which is kept at room temperature. The other member is pushed into the one member so that heat from the one member is not transferred, and when the one member is thrust, the one member is sheared and causes adhesive force on a newly born sheared surface thereof. When the temperature of the one member falls, the one member makes thermal contraction, which squeezes the other member tightly.
