PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving-force control system for a vehicle by which control of problems in drivability arising from running at a high speed and also security for engine-brake force are achieved in conducting a transmission shift-control of the vehicle on the basis of running environmental parameters. SOLUTION: The driving-force control system for the vehicle conducts the transmission control to either side of a target transmission-stage and a target transmission-gear ratio (S2, S7 respectively) on the basis of running environmental parameters (S1). The control system comprises an estimation means (S5) which estimates whether a vehicle accelerator remains in an open state or not after the vehicle has come out of either side of a place and condition which corresponds to the running environmental parameters. If it is estimated by the estimation means that the vehicle accelerator remains in an open state (S5-Y), the control system controls so that either side of the target transmission stage and the target gear-transmission ratio can be more easily set to the high-speed-stage side (S7) than in the case where it is not estimated that the vehicle acceleration remains in an open state (S5-N).
