PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel compound that can efficiently deliver quinoline expected to be a therapeutic agent for malaria into protozoa. SOLUTION: A compound represented by general formula (1) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof is provided. In the formula, sugar is D(+)-glucose; Y indicates H or an acetyl; R independently indicates a 1-15C straight-chain alkyl, a 1-15C straight-chain alkoxy, an aryloxy or an NR<SP>1</SP>R<SP>2</SP>(R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>each independently indicates H, a 1-15C straight-chain alkyl or an aryl).
