<p>A display device is provided to carry out a clear display in both reflective and transmissive displays without setting up a multiple-gap structure and to reduce a response time difference between reflective and transmissive domains. The display device includes a pair of substrates, a display medium held between the substrates, and pixels in which the reflective domains for the reflective display and the transmissive domains for the transmissive display are formed, wherein the display device is comprised of pixel electrodes and a common electrode formed on one of the substrates, a voltage is applied to the display medium through the pixel electrodes and the common electrode, the pixel electrode is provided with a slit and the reflective domain is provided with a shield electrode set between the pixel electrode and the common electrode.</p> |
