A material for brush bristles and a brush are provided to secure hardness and grinding characteristic proper for workpieces or the shape and purpose of the workpieces by blending the pre-determined amount of abrasive grains of lava stone or basalt. A material(111) for brush bristles contains at least one kind of abrasive grains(12,13) of lava stone or basalt of 1~70% blended in a linear metal material(11). A portion or entire surface of a peripheral part of the linear metal brush bristle material is coated with at least one selected from inorganic abrasive grains, metal or alloy abrasive grains, abrasive grains of volcanic ash, and abrasive grains of obsidian, lava stone, and basalt. In addition, the linear metal material is blended and covered with synthetic resin materials mixed with animal fiber and/or plant fiber. |
