<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication device that requires authentication before the start of wireless communication and reduces power consumption. <P>SOLUTION: When authentication processing is not finished in between a note PC 11, power supply from a battery 109 is limited and power supply to a wireless communication part 104, a wired association part 105, a sensor 107, and a data generator 108 that are blocks unrequired for authentication processing is not executed. When the authentication processing is completed, a mouse 10 and the note PC 11 are recognized as mutually reliable devices each other so as to execute wireless USB utilizing the wireless communication part 104.
