PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display which has preferable display characteristics having no color unevenness and luminance unevenness, by using thin film transistors, which are uniform in the characteristics of the transistor and controlled with high accuracy, as switching devices for pixel electrodes, while the secular change of the characteristics of the transistor is small, and the carrier mobility is high. SOLUTION: The display includes a driving substrate provided, arrayed thereon, with a plurality of pixel electrodes and thin film transistors Tr1 for driving the pixel electrodes. The thin film transistor Tr1 includes a semiconductor thin film having an active region 5a-1 made to be polycrystalline by irradiation with an energy beam, and a gate electrode 9 provided so as to cross the active region 5a-1. Especially, in a channel part C of the active region 5a-1 overlapping with the gate electrode 9, the crystal state is varied periodically along the channel length L direction, and substantially the same crystal state crosses the channel part C.
