PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wireless communication terminal device that improves efficiency of data transmission/reception by optimizing a CW, and to provide its control method. SOLUTION: The wireless communication terminal device has a wireless LAN communication function. The device is provided with a means for acquiring, information regarding the number of terminals connected to an access point of a wireless LAN as a connection target, a CW value update means which updates a contention window value (a CW value) for determining back-off time showing communication standby time corresponding to the acquired number of the connected terminals, and a wireless LAN communication means that executes communication with the access point of the wireless LAN by using the CW value updated with the CW value update means.
